Pharmacist, Ph.D. | Founder & Chief Scientific Officer

Michel Georges Magouritsas brings more than three decades of experience in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical research and development. His track record includes the development of more than 400 products, scientific publications and collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations and manufacturing partners in Greece and Italy.

His expertise spans formulation science, Mediterranean botanicals, natural bioactives and advanced delivery systems, with a current focus on biomarker-driven research in healthy aging and longevity.

As Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, he defines Altya’s scientific strategy and oversees the development of its ingredients, formulations and proprietary health platforms.

Our Journey

A New Company Built on an Established Scientific Foundation

Altya was established in 2024. Its scientific foundations draw on founder-led research and development extending back to 2003.

2003 — Scientific Foundations

Research into Mediterranean botanicals, Greek biodiversity and biologically active natural compounds.

2003–2023 — Research & Product Development

Expansion into formulation science, bioactive ingredients, advanced delivery systems and health products, supported by scientific collaborations and experimental evaluation.

2024 — Altya Established

Creation of a dedicated company for health innovation, intellectual property development and strategic partnerships.

Today — Biological Optimization Platforms

Development of integrated platforms addressing healthy aging, longevity and human resilience.

How We Work

A Flexible, Project-Based Development Model

Altya organizes development around each project’s scientific, technical and commercial requirements, bringing in specialized external teams and manufacturing partners at the relevant stages.

We maintain scientific direction, development oversight and intellectual property strategy throughout the project. The pathway below outlines the principal stages of product development.

01 Ingredient & supply-chain research

Potential ingredients and sourcing options are assessed.

02 Formulation development

Selected ingredients are brought together in a proposed composition.

03 Laboratory-scale product feasibility

The proposed formulation is assessed in laboratory form, primarily with the manufacturing partner.

04 Product optimization & pilot batch

Product forms, sensory characteristics, stability and delivery systems are assessed before producing a pilot batch.

05 Clinical intervention & biomarker evaluation

Where included in the project’s research plan, the pilot batch is used in a clinical intervention study with biomarker evaluation.

06 Industrial-scale production

The formulation proceeds to production at industrial scale.
